The blog posts here emerged from the project, Race, Migration and Memory. The initiative was a collaborative venture delivered by the University of Birmingham (UoB) and the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and funded by the Birmingham-Illinois Partnership for Discovery, Engagement and Education (BRIDGE). The project brought together scholars from UoB and UIUC from across disciplines and at all career stages in two collaborative workshops in Birmingham (June 2023) and Illinois (November 2023). Both workshops facilitated vibrant discussions about race, migration, xenophobia, trauma, border regimes, memory transmission, climate change, and many other urgent themes.
